Diary extract - Death of parents and graves at East Tuddenham

 

Extracts from the dairy of Edward Sendall 1831-1907


"Mother died on the 31st October 1847 aged 43 years
My father died on the 8th October 1857 aged 74 years

The following are copies from the Family Grave Stones in East Tuddenham Church yard, Norfolk

Grandfather Richard Sendall Died 1820 aged 79 years.
Grandmother Sarah Henrietta Sendall Died September 1831 aged 79 years.
(Uncle) Edward Sendall Died September 15th 1856 aged 72 years
(Uncle) John the son of Richard and Sarah Henrietta Sendall Died September 13th 1803 aged 23 years
(Uncle) James Sendall Died September 23 1871 aged 80 years.
(Aunt) Christianna Sendall the wife of James Sendall Died august 13th 1841 aged 36 years
(Aunt) Susanna Sendall the Wife of Richard Sendall Died May 13th aged 23 years.

Relations of Fathers - 
Michael Dexter Died April 8th 1830 aged 76 years
Dorothy Bell Dexter Died January 15th 1827 aged 76 years
Robert Dexter Died in London March 23rd 1857 aged 57 years - I knew him well, had been a coachman in very good families had been Coachman to the Duchess of Kent

All those named above were buried at the West End of the Churchyard."

Charles Reginald Leeds Died February 25th 1976 aged 84

Christianna the wife of James Sendall who died Aug 15 1829 Aged 36 Years

  Extracts from the dairy of Edward Sendall 1831-1907 My father Harold William wrote the following notes at the end of his transcript: The above extracted from the Diary and the following notes added by Harold W. Sendall, on 24th May 1971 Verbattim extracts from the Diary are in quotation marks. Bracketed notes marked * are added comments by Harold W. Sendall. ( now in italic in this blog) My father, Edward William Sendall was married twice. The first to Ann [My note: Not Ann - Mary Elizabeth ] Hind and they had the following children (apart from any who may have died at birth or in early infancy). Clara, Mary Ann (who have died), Thomas Henry (retired minister of the United Church of Canada now living in Victoria B.C. (no sons) so no other Sendalls there, Alice Hind and Amelia Ann Wilson (widow) who both live in Lincoln and are in their eighties.
