Diary Extract - My Father's concluding notes

 

Extracts from the dairy of Edward Sendall 1831-1907


My father Harold William wrote the following notes at the end of his transcript:

My father, Edward William Sendall was married twice. The first to Ann [My note: Not Ann - Mary Elizabeth] Hind and they had the following children (apart from any who may have died at birth or in early infancy). Clara, Mary Ann (who have died), Thomas Henry (retired minister of the United Church of Canada now living in Victoria B.C. (no sons) so no other Sendalls there, Alice Hind and Amelia Ann Wilson (widow) who both live in Lincoln and are in their eighties. The second marriage took place to Kate Elizabeth Jackson in August 1900, they had two sons - John who died at 4 from meningitis, and Harold William born April 11th 1907. My wife and I have three children [MY note: excluding Donald Ian who was born first and only lived a few days - I have seen a grave on the Wirral when I was young] - Rosalind Ursula, born September 1st 1941, married to Edward Honeyman and living in Feltham Middlesex, with their two children [Mark and Dawn]; Donald Graham (born 23rd April 1945, so far unmarried and works in Guildford) and Christopher John (born December 19th 1950 and is at Warwick University as a student).
